Classic Pogon in Soviet ebonite — handmade, one of a kind, no. 202.
Ebonite began as an industrial insulator and as stock for mouthpieces, combs, and instrument housings, so Soviet reserves are dense, honest rubber without modern cost-cutting fillers. Read more about the material on the “Soviet ebonite” page.
The form shows best on warm, dense materials that are pleasant to hold edge or face — mammoth ivory, aged wood, horn and amber — where the elongated grain underscores the material's figure along its full length.
Handmade by Zhenya Kartavyh. The only one of its kind. Overall length 22.3 cm, weight 50 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
