Hexagonal pogon in mammoth ivory — handmade, one of a kind, no. 250.
Mammoth ivory is fossil bone that lay in the permafrost of Yakutia and Chukotka for ten to forty thousand years. We cover the “mammoth ivory” material separately.
The form shows best on dense, uniform, well-polished materials — mammoth ivory, black ebony, dark horn and tight stone — where each of the six facets holds a flawlessly clean line.
Handmade by Zhenya Kartavyh. One of a kind. Overall length 22 cm, weight 60 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
