A particular merit is stability: juma does not build patina in the usual sense, does not cloud or change color over time, staying just as it was on day one, which appeals to those who want an "forever new" look. More on the material’s properties in the “juma” section.
The form is best revealed on dense, uniform materials with real texture — stabilised mammoth ivory, ebony, dark horn and tight stone fruit pits — where each facet holds a clean line and polishes a beautiful patina.
