Care is simple: protect from prolonged moisture and direct heat, wipe with a dry soft cloth; if desired, the surface can be lightly refreshed now and then with a thin layer of neutral oil. Read more about the material on the “cow bone” page.
Carvers favour this cut because it offers two characters at once — the flats catch and return light in even highlights, while the rounded edges stay smooth in the fingers and never bite the skin during a long roll.
Handmade by Ando (Chetki Guys). It cannot be reproduced exactly. Overall length 21 cm, weight 40 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
