Ebonite began as an industrial insulator and as stock for mouthpieces, combs, and instrument housings, so Soviet reserves are dense, honest rubber without modern cost-cutting fillers. More on the material’s properties in the “Soviet ebonite” section.
The form shows best on dense, uniform, well-polished materials — mammoth ivory, black ebony, dark horn and tight stone — where each of the six facets holds a flawlessly clean line.
Handmade by Ando (Chetki Guys). It cannot be reproduced exactly. Overall length 22 cm, weight 48 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
