Aramith phenolic resin is all but wear-proof, does not fade, and shrugs off moisture and sweat, so patina is minimal and the look stays pristine; care comes down to a wipe with a cloth and an occasional light polish. We cover the “Aramith billiard ball” material separately.

The form shows best on uniform, easily carved materials that hold fine relief — mammoth ivory, dense wood, horn and bone — where the carving comes out crisp and patina, over time, underscores every line of the ornament.
