Spun, it sounds noble: a deep, bony, quiet click with none of the plastic rattle, carrying a faint dry timbre. We cover the “mammoth ivory” material separately.
In the hand mammoth ivory is noticeably dense and cool at first, but it quickly takes the warmth of the palm, seeming to come alive at the touch.
Handmade by Dima (Ohotnik Chetki i Rezba). The only one of its kind. Overall length 22 cm, weight 42 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
