Azerbaijani in Soviet ebonite — handmade, one of a kind, no. 131.
Ebonite began as an industrial insulator and as stock for mouthpieces, combs, and instrument housings, so Soviet reserves are dense, honest rubber without modern cost-cutting fillers. We cover the “Soviet ebonite” material separately.
The sound is clean and rhythmic, with a recognisable dense tumble.
Handmade by Zhenya Kartavyh. Made once and never repeated. Overall length 22 cm, weight 43.5 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
