German colored ebonite (often marked SEM / SEM Hartgummi) is a modern, premium-grade hard rubber that, unlike classic black ebonite, comes in a rich palette: deep burgundy, tobacco, amber, emerald, marbled and multicolored blends. The form is best revealed on dense, uniform materials with real texture — stabilised mammoth ivory, ebony, dark horn and tight stone fruit pits — where each facet holds a clean line and polishes a beautiful patina.
