Mosaic in Soviet ebonite — handmade, one of a kind, no. 455.
Ebonite began as an industrial insulator and as stock for mouthpieces, combs, and instrument housings, so Soviet reserves are dense, honest rubber without modern cost-cutting fillers. More on the material’s properties in the “Soviet ebonite” section.
Mosaic is worked slowly and admiringly — you reach for it not for speed but to roll and study it, like a kaleidoscope in the hand.
Handmade by Ando (Chetki Guys). Made once and never repeated. Overall length 22 cm, weight 50 g. This piece is sold; we can craft a similar one to order.
