Where old family beads are concerned, elephant ivory feels remarkably warm and smooth, with a soft glow no substitute matches; spun, it rings clear and melodic with a long bony tone. We cover the “elephant ivory” material separately.
The format shows best on smooth, pleasantly gliding, moderately heavy materials — mammoth ivory, amber, polished stone and dense wood — which give a clean run and a long, soothing rhythm.
Handmade by Aleksey (Spin Chetki). Made once and never repeated. Overall length 26 cm, weight 48 g. Available now.
