German colored ebonite (often marked SEM / SEM Hartgummi) is a modern, premium-grade hard rubber that, unlike classic black ebonite, comes in a rich palette: deep burgundy, tobacco, amber, emerald, marbled and multicolored blends. When the form is reduced to a pure sphere, everything rests on the material: the slightest unevenness of grain, any imprecision in sizing or weak polish shows at once.
